Professional Background
I have spent my career in Calgary, where I trained and continue to practice. My practice focuses on primary hip replacement using the anterior approach, as well as partial and total knee replacement. I also perform revision hip and knee reconstruction, with additional clinical interests in complex orthopaedic trauma, including periprosthetic fractures and nonunions.
Much of my work extends beyond the operating room. I serve as Chief of the Hip & Knee Arthroplasty Section at the University of Calgary and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery. I also lead the Competency-By-Design curriculum for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, helping train the next generation of orthopaedic specialists.
Following my medical degree at the University of Alberta, I completed my Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Calgary. I then pursued additional subspecialty training through fellowships in Orthopaedic Trauma at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York and Hip & Knee Arthroplasty at the University of Toronto. To further develop my expertise in anterior approach hip replacement, I completed a travelling fellowship with the Anterior Hip Foundation throughout the United States.
My approach to care is grounded in evidence-based medicine, thoughtful surgical planning, and clear communication. Each patient is unique, and I believe in working closely with patients and the healthcare team to develop a clear plan for treatment. Our shared goal is to restore mobility, reduce pain, and help each patient return to the activities and quality of life that matter most to them.
